Time Frame: 18 weeks
CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
RESPECT – listening attentively, respecting others opinions, use appropriate and positive language
ORGANIZATION – being prepared with materials and assignments, keeping a health binder
ACHIEVEMENT – actively participating in class, putting forth best effort, following directions
RESPONSIBILITY – be on time, accept consequences, communicate with teacher, getting make-up work
GRADING POLICY

Formative assessments (homework) make up 30% of your grade
-
Summative assessments (tests/ projects) make up 70% of your grade
-
EVERY student has the opportunity to revise/retake a summative assessment when they participate in an intervention
-
Students can take advantage of this second chance assessment up to I week after they have completed their intervention
-
ALL formative assessments must be turned in BEFORE the second chance assessment is given
-
Second chance assessments may be taken away if the teacher feels the student did not follow the classroom expectations

70 – 79 = C
60 – 69 = D
59 – 0 = F
NOT completing 10 hours of community service will result in a failing grade for the semester.
Health Education is a graduation requirement.

MARTERIALS NEEDED FOR CLASS
You must have the following for class each day:

Pen and/or Pencil

3-ring health binder: Keep graded homework in case of any discrepancies with the grade book.
BINDERS
Each student is expected to keep a binder of all work. It is the student’s responsibility to bring this binder to class EACH DAY. It should be NEAT and ORGANIZED according to units. Binders will be collected RANDOMLY for points.
BINDERS WILL BE TURNED IN AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER FOR A SUMMATIVE GRADE.
CONSEQUENCES
First Offense: Warning
Second Offense: Detention and call home
Third Offense: Detention and call home
Fourth Offense: Office Referral
